I, at one time, had three of those desktop computers simultaneously operating for months-on-end. each with two to three high-end Cuda Video Cards processing at one time, 24-7-365. I am not a newbie to computers, having built many superfast desktop models since 1990, for running Distributed Computing apps. I have zero faith in either of thier techinical abilities, and zero faith that I have two defective modems / modem/routers. Insisting that would miraculuously correct my connection problem. Then she said they would give me the modem/router at NO CHARGE. I have no desire to pay for spare hardware that'll lay there til it's outdated. So, she began ordering me an ActionTec combo modem/router and I raised my voice and became agaitated. Then she tried telling me I "maybe" had a bad cable. Then she told me that that second modem was bad. The lady, near the end of the second call, tried telling me that my modem was bad, so I broke out an unused Verizon modem, hooked it up, and it failed to connect also. Log in to your router from a computer already connected to your network. "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. Within In-Home Agent, go to the Networking tab and select Retrieve SSID and WEP/WPA key.
and I had previously downloaded and ran the Verizon In-Home Agent before even contacting Tech Support, which really just activates the Windows-10 built-in Network Check Tool.īoth displayed the same info when completed. All things that I had checked before even first contacting Verizon Tech Support.
So, on Tuesday afternoon I called Verizon Tech Support again, with the Ticket Reference Code from the first call, and the lady that answered my 2nd call began walking me through the exact same sequence that I had already been walked through on Saturday. Verizon’s DSL gives you a dedicated internet access line from our central office to your home that’s all yours. On Tuesday morning I checked and still had NO INTERNET CONNECTION. DSL (digital subscriber line) is a type of technology that connects you to the internet over a telephone network. She told me that she would have the problem fixed by Monday night, late. On Saturday, August 20, 2016, I called Verizon Tech Support and the lady walked me through everything I had already checked and assessed. so, I've been paying for a competitor's WiFi service for several months. When I returned home my DSL wasn't working and I did not have time to fool with it. Last year I had to leave my home suddenly for a medical reason, and was gone almost a year. First, I've used Verizon DSL for well over 12-years on two successive phone numbers at the same physical location.
